About the Company
Our client is a Series B deep tech business operating in one of the most strategically important and fast-moving sectors in technology today. Backed by some of the most notable names in tech investing including board members from two of the most recognizable companies in the industry they have raised over $625 million to date and are currently valued at $10 billion, with a further significant raise imminent.
With a clear path to commercial revenue and volume production targeted within the next two years, the business is entering its most critical growth phase and is hiring a world-class CFO to help take them there.
The Opportunity
This is not a steady-state finance role. The incoming CFO will serve as a long-term executive partner to the founders building the finance function from near-zero infrastructure while simultaneously managing multi-billion dollar capital allocation and driving the business toward an IPO by 2029.
You will be as comfortable designing a month-end close process as you are reviewing a billion-dollar debt term sheet. You are a builder, a strategist, and an operator all at once.
What You'll Do
Build the Finance Function
- Build and lead the finance organisation from its current early-stage infrastructure into a world-class function capable of supporting a public company
- Oversee and develop the Controller and FinOps teams, establishing robust systems, processes, and internal controls
- Establish accounting governance, financial reporting, and audit-readiness aligned to the IPO timeline
- Embed financial discipline across the organisation without creating friction for a fast-moving, highly technical culture
Strategic Capital Allocation & Fundraising
- Lead an imminent significant fundraise and manage ongoing relationships with institutional investors
- Manage and optimise deployment of multi-billion dollar capital across supply chain, manufacturing partnerships, and production capacity
- Oversee execution of a substantial debt financing facility secured to lock in supply chain and manufacturing commitments
- Develop long-term capital structure strategy in close partnership with founders
IPO Readiness
- Drive the business toward IPO readiness targeting 2029
- Build investor relations capability and board-level reporting infrastructure
- Advise founders on strategic considerations as the business scales toward exit
